Books We Recommend
What I'm reading this year:
January 2010
Just started
The Answer is Simple . . .
Love Yourself, Live Your Spirit,
by Sonia Choquette.
My husband and I met her at the Tampa "I Can Do
It" conference in November and she gave
Steve this book, after a workshop he attended
with Sonia. We also bought the DVD that
has
lessons that accompany the book. I'll let
you know how much we enjoy it!

Well, I finished the 21 Day
Consciousness Cleanse! Now, I'm
reading Truth Heals by
Deborah King. While attending
the I Can Do It Conference in Tampa a few weeks
ago,
my husband and I received a goodie bag with this
book in it. I gave my copy to my best
friend and she called to tell me how terrific it
was. Once I started reading it, I agreed!
Deborah discusses each of the seven chakras and
shares personal stories, as well as
case histories of her clients to explain how
pain and old wounds can block our chakras
or cause them to spin counterclockwise. Then,
she explains the physical diseases that
can result from prolonged blockages and damage
to our chakras. She also has tips
for bringing our chakras into better health.
While at the conference, I met Carolyn
Myss and got her autograph on my copy
of
her new book, Defy Gravity.
I'll let you know what I think of it in January!

The 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse by
Debbie Ford
This is a wonderful book and journal system for
clearing out old patterns, thoughts
and ways of life. I saw this in an e-mail
newsletter I get from Debbie and knew it was
for me! Here's what her website says about the
book, as I couldn't say it better:
“Now, in her most practical and prescriptive
book to date, bestselling author Debbie Ford
delivers a three-part
process that empowers us to let go of toxic
thoughts and destructive behaviors and discover
the deep peace
that resides within. The first 7 days are a
life-changing release of everything from the
past that depletes our
vitality and holds us back. When we purge these
old emotions—like hardened grief, bitter
resentments,
deadening regrets, and outdated beliefs—we begin
to feel a new passion for life. During the next
7 days,
standing in the present, Ford has us take an
honest look at where—and who—we are today. We'll
observe
everything and notice what is and what is
not
working. Standing firmly inside the present
moment, we realize
our own strength and the ability to respond to
the calling of our soul. The final week brings
the most ex-
hilarating transformation as we look into the
future and discover who we want to be from this
day forward.”
Be sure to write
me and share your thoughts on this amazing book.

Psychic
Healing: Using the Tools of a Medium to Cure
Whatever Ails You
by Sylvia Browne
My
husband and I were looking at Borders Books,
while waiting for a movie to start and I
picked up this new book by Sylvia and I couldn't
put it down. It goes into great detail,
including
ways you can do some healing on yourself and a
question and answer with two of her guides.
This book is a very quick read. She says that
each cell in your body knows and remembers
how to be healthy. Sylvia also touches on the
idea that people must also truly want to be
healed,
in order for healing to occur. Lots of great
tips and techniques for anyone interested in the
healing arts.

The Four Agreements: A
Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec
Wisdom Book) by Don Miguel Ruiz
I first read this book in 2001, after giving it
to my husband for Christmas in 2000.
Recently, a friend reminded me about reviewing
the four agreements:
Agreement 1
Be impeccable with your word
Agreement
2
Don’t take anything personally
Agreement 3
Don’t make assumptions
Agreement 4
Always do your best
Over the next few weeks, I'm re-reading the
book, and making daily notes on how it
relates to my journey, this time around!
Discover
Your Inner Wisdom: Using Intuition, Logic, and
Common Sense to Make
Your Best Choices by Char Margolis
I
just finished this wonderful book by psychic
medium, Char Margolis. In fact, I'm teaching
a Class
based on many of the ideas in this book on
Saturday, September 26. Char gives us
practical tips on tapping our inner wisdom and
using logic AND common sense to make
decisions in our daily lives. It is helpful,
inspiring and a quick read!

Spiritual Liberation: Fulfilling Your Soul's
Potential by Michael Bernard Beckwith
Either read silently or aloud, this
book can be a part of your daily meditation or
prayer practice.
Each chapter includes an affirmation that
distills its core concepts into a sentence or
two for the
reader to easily practice throughout the day.
Beckwith's personal and touching accounts help
us
to integrate and activate divinity into our
everyday life.
"With elegant simplicity, Michael Bernard
Beckwith's book shows us how to awaken our inner
intelligence to bring about a radical and social
transformation so that we can live a life with
peace, harmony, joy and creativity." --

Awaken To Your Soul: A Guide to
Remembering Who You Really Are by Mary
Anderson, PhD is
a thoughtful book, and I had the good fortune to
meet Mary at her recent book signing in the home
of my friend, Margaret Clench. The book
chronicles Mary’s personal healing journey
following a
visit by an angelic being and a spirit guide on
a May morning several years ago.
As a seasoned intuitive and psychotherapist,
Mary has helped hundreds of clients on their own
journeys and through her book, she offers
clarity and wisdom to guide others in their own
healing
process. She also includes a map of the chakra
system to facilitate a step-by-step progression
into discovering the true essence of a soul.
Chasing Rumi: A Fable About Finding the
Heart's True Desire by Roger Housden
I found this great little book at Half Price
Books for $2.00. It was a magical read! The
author adds
a mystical twist to a young man's search for
love in this allegorical tale of a Greek icon
painter living
in 1950s Italy. His trip takes him to a
monastery, to the shrine of Delphi, and to other
sites in Greece
and Turkey. It is a tale of the relationship
between divine love and earthly romantic love.
It’s a quick
read . . . great for summer!

spiritual growth.
After you read Janet Conner’s book, you will
know that ANYONE can write! Let her lead you to
find
out what your Soul already knows.

At the recent Wellness Expo in Addison,
I met LaRue Eppler, author of Your Essential
Whisper. I've been reading her book since
that time, and it is an amazing compilation
of six ways to hear your intuition, your inner
wisdom. There is also an on-line members
site for readers, with a free workbook, audios
and more! E-mail me for details. And,
let me know how much you love this book!
April 2009
Received Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt
and began reading it this
weekend. It begins with Jesus as a seven-year-old and his trip
back to Nazareth. It is interesting to read a novel where I know the
story! It is no less exciting and interesting, and I'm enjoying the
colorful scenery and characters.
"Rice's painstaking historical research is obvious throughout, whether she's
showing
the differences among first-century Jewish groups (Pharisees, Essenes and
Sadducees
all play a part), imagining a Passover pilgrimage to Jerusalem or depicting the
regular
but violent rebellions by Jews chafing under Roman rule. The book succeeds in
capturing Jesus' profound Jewishness, with some of the best scenes reflecting
his Torah
education and immersion in the oral traditions of the Hebrew Bible."

Just finished Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana by Anne Rice - an
amazing book! She takes the Gospels and adds information from her
own research into the times, the people and their lives. Her writing
style is rich and descriptive, without being flowery or pretentious. I
felt as if I were there when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist
and when he turned the water into wine at the wedding. I just ordered
Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt, as I realized after buying the first book
that I was reading them out of order.
“A powerful account of Christ’s humanity while staying true to orthodox
Christianity. Her
well-drawn, believable supporting characters add to a vivid captivating story .
. . a novel
that both religious and secular audiences can appreciate and enjoy; highly
recommended
for all fiction collections.”

Last year, I
learned about a wonderful book called Courageous Souls:
Do We Plan Our Life Challenges Before Birth?, by Robert Schwartz. It
chronicles the
"pre-birth planning process" of 10 people. This
book
dovetails nicely with books by Dr. Michael Newton and Carolyn Myss
(and
others) who tell us that we make plans or contracts for our lives
before we
incarnate. I've just started reading this book by Schwartz
and it is
fascinating! I'll share more as I go through each chapter.
E-mail me if
you've read this book and want to share your thoughts.
Here's what two
authors have to say about it:
"The more we know about
the meaning of life, the better we understand
the important choices we must make. Robert Schwartz has done an
excellent job of presenting the possible explanations of what we are
doing here and why we are here. I highly recommend this book."
– Dannion Brinkley, author of Saved by the Light,
and The Secrets of the Light
"Courageous
Souls is a deeply insightful guide as to why our lives
unfold as they do and how to direct them to a deeper place.
It's a powerful book and I highly recommend it"
– Carolyn Myss, author of Why People Don't Heal

To get 2009 off to a great start, I'm reading Natural
Health, Natural Medicine
by Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. Dr. weil is someone I hav e followed for
serveral
years and I'm interested to learn mroe about the mind body connection and
a more balanced and holistic perspective to my health. If you've read this
book, please e-mail me to share your thoughts.

My husband
introduced me to a book by Psychic Dougall Fraser, But
You Knew That Already, which was a quick read and very interesting.
Dougall worked in Dallas before moving to New York and then Los
Angeles and he mentions some local venues and local psychic
mediums who helped him on his path. Interestingly, he was in town
seeing his sister for the Thanksgiving holidays and appeared on Good
Morning Texas on Channel 8.
November 2008
I'm working through Sonia Choquette's book The Psychic
Pathway: A
Workbook for Reawakening the Voice of Your Soul. It's a 12 week
process
for getting more in touch with the inner you. You can March and April
below
and read about one of Sonia's other books, Diary of a Psychic.
October 2008
Now I'm reading
Limitless Mind by Russell Targ and Jean Houston, which
is "A Guide to Remote Viewing and Transformation
of Consciousness." This
book is a chronicle of Russell Targ's own journey and the process of
quieting
the mind for receiving psychic impressions. It is filled with personal
stories,
techniques and the scientific aspects of remote viewing.
September 2008
This month I'm reading
The Power of the Mind to Heal, by Joan and
Mirolslav Borysenko. Both medical doctors, these two pioneers have
helped pave the way to truly understanding the "mind-body" connection
and combine medicine, metaphysics and spirituality in this beautiful
book on healing. It deals with both physical and emotional ailments.

My husband and I have just
returned from Sedona, where we trained
with Pete Sanders, who is an MIT trained scientist and author of
You Are Psychic and several other books. We visited many of the
area's vortex sites and worked on our skills. It was invigorating,
inspirational and extremely uplifting! We invite you to go to Pete's
site to learn more:
http://www.freesoul.net/
Pete has also written a book
called Access Your Brain's Joy Center,
which I bought last year after taking his Free Soul class. His books
and easy teaching style helped us fine tune our psychic skills, learn
more about managing stress and find more peace and joy. Go to
Pete's site or e-mail me to learn more about this gifted spiritual
teacher, scientist and our new friend!
July Update:
This is a much more
introspective book than Eckert Tolle's. It's taking
me longer to finish a chapter and I find I go back and re-read sections
several times. I'm just starting to get into the workbook, as well.
When I take a break, I read
lighter fare, such as George Anderson's
book: We Don't Die, co-written with Joel Martin and Patricia Roman-
owski. It's about George's life from sensitive child to troubled teen to
world class psychic. Very light reading, with interesting stories, much
like John Edward's books. Interestingly, George is from Long Island, NY.
May & June 2008
Now I'm reading The Presence Process by
Michael Brown. I recent-
ly had the chance to hear Michael speak and love how this way of
thinking dovetails with that of Eckert Tolle. His newest book is
next on my list: Alchemy of the Heart. On his website, he has
several CDs of various discussions, as well as several free downloads
of presentations and writings on the subject of being in the present
moment:

March - April 2008 (You can still enjoy
the webcasts!!)
I just finished reading the Oprah Book Club feature,
A New Earth,
which
is also by Eckert Tolle. I am enjoying being a part of the Monday
classes with Oprah's web cast, the workbook and the changes in
my thinking that I am experiencing. If you want to join in (you can
become a part of this at any time) follow this link to learn more. I
understand that the downloads of the classes, which are available
in audio and video downloads, will remain on-line. You can also
download transcripts of the classes and a workbook to learn more.

Please e-mail me about your thoughts on this
wonderful book and
the ground-breaking mass communications "school" that Oprah has
created on Monday nights. I'd love to hear from you:

My husband, Steve, just got a great book
called "Diary of a Psychic,"
by Sonia Choquette. I picked it up one night to scan it and couldn't
put it down. It is a very quick read and gives such great insights into
the life of a person who came into her psychic skills at a very young
age. Her development and the teachers with whom she studied
make for very interesting reading. You can see more about Sonia
by visiting Hay House Radio or on Amazon.com.
January and February 2008
I've just finished reading Eat, Love, Pray,
by Elizabeth Gilbert. It is a
a fascinating journal of one woman's trip to Italy, India and Indonesia
and the spiritual journey she took in each place.
Now, I'm reading Eckert Tolle's book, The Power of Now and enjoying
the companion CD: "Gateways to Now". If you are one of those people
who have had trouble meditating, then I heartily recommend this book
and CD. I have made incredible leaps in quieting my mind since I started
it.
If you read a good book or enjoy a great CD,
drop me an e-mail and let me
know. I love hearing about new authors or new books.
